Our Commitment to Accuracy and Integrity

The Scientuit is committed to the highest standards of science journalism. Our readers trust us to get it right — and we take that responsibility seriously. This page outlines the principles that guide every article we publish.

Sources and Verification

  • We rely primarily on peer-reviewed scientific studies, published in reputable journals
  • We cite all primary sources and link directly to research papers, press releases, or official statements where possible
  • We seek comment from independent experts who are not affiliated with the study or institution being covered
  • We do not publish claims based solely on press releases without independent verification
  • We clearly distinguish between established scientific consensus and emerging or preliminary findings

Headlines and Accuracy

  • Our headlines accurately reflect the content of the article — we do not use misleading or sensationalist headlines
  • We clearly label opinion, analysis, and sponsored content as distinct from news reporting
  • Claims of causation are only made when supported by sufficient evidence — correlation is not conflated with causation

Corrections Policy

When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently:

  • Corrections are noted at the top of the article with the date of correction
  • We do not silently alter published articles without noting the change
  • Significant errors that affect the meaning of a story may result in the article being retracted with an explanation

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

  • Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial considerations
  • Sponsored content is always clearly labeled as such and is kept separate from editorial content
  • Writers disclose any potential conflicts of interest relevant to their reporting
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage

Diversity and Inclusion

We actively seek diverse voices and perspectives in our sourcing and storytelling — across gender, geography, ethnicity, and discipline. Science belongs to everyone, and our journalism should reflect that.

AI and Automated Content

Where AI tools are used in the research or drafting process, all content is reviewed, verified, and edited by a human editor before publication. We do not publish unreviewed AI-generated content.
